‘Investing in the community is a smart
investment – an investment that brings
rewarding results and makes good
business sense.’

Urban Communities has evolved from a joint partnership between State government and property developer, Becton, who shared vision to promote an integrated and cohesive community through a place management approach with common standards for grounds, buildings and services, high quality management and a strong focus on community building.

The State government has invested in Urban Communities to deliver place management services at Kensington including managing public housing on behalf of the Office of Housing. Our model is based on over six years of experience in place management in a mixed tenure community and our action learning agenda.

Our aim is to translate our experience and knowledge into new and improved policies, programs, practices and places for people to live.

Urban Communities’ offers government a model for fresh thinking and positive change in the management of mixed tenure communities and urban renewal.
